Westborough – Political newcomers Shelby Marshall (777 votes) and Syed Hashmi (693 votes) both won their bids for seats on the Westborough Board of Selectmen in the Town Election March 6, defeating incumbent George Barrette (523 votes) for the two contested spots.
The only other contested race was Mary Ellen Johnston (525 votes) defeating Rebecca Lewis (349 votes) for a one year term for Trustees of the Public Library.
According to Town Clerk Wendy Mickel, 1,107 voters (out of 12,254) participated.
