Westborough – The top-seeded Shrewsbury girls’ hockey team defeated 17th-seeded HPNA by a score of 2-1 in a MISS Girls Ice Hockey Division 1 first round game played March 3 and NorthStar Ice Sports in Westborough

The Shrewsbury team is a co-op team consisting of players from Shrewsbury, Westborough, Wachusett Regional and St. Peter-Marian high schools.  The HPNA team is comprised of players from the Haverhill, Pentucket and North Andover high schools.

Shrewsbury scored twice in the first period, with goals by junior captain Delaney Couture and sophomore Grace Felicio, which was all the scoring they needed for the win.

Shrewsbury, now 20-0-1 on the season, advances to play Masconomet in a quarter final matchup at the O’Brien Rink in Woburn, on a date and time to be announced.
