WESTBOROUGH – Area children and their grownups got a healthy dose of fun last week at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA in Westborough.
There, a morning full of activities took place at an annual event known as Healthy Kids Day. This event was once again free of charge and open to the public.
It was part of the Y’s national Healthy Kids Day initiative, which seeks to improve health and well-being for kids and families.
“The Y hopes to use the day to get more kids moving and learning, creating healthy habits they can continue while they’re away from the classroom,” the Y notes on its website.
Locally, the two-hour event featured an Animal Adventures show, WooSox whiffle ball challenges and one-on-one karate lessons led by “Karate Terk” of Daikaiju Kempo.
Other activities included an obstacle course, bouncy house, face painting and nutrition education.
