REGION – The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has released preliminary race results for this year’s Boston Marathon.
Included in the results are finishing times for the vast majority of the more than 60 local runners registered to take part in the 2022 marathon.
The BAA noted that race times remained unofficial as of Monday night.
Outside of local runners, the marathon’s elite women’s race came down to a sprint finish between Peres Jepchirchir and Ababel Yeshaneh, who jockeyed for position as they made their way through the final stretch of the race route in Boston.
Jepchirchir ultimately pulled away from Yeshaneh for the narrow win.
Evans Chebet won the men’s race while Daniel Romanchuk took first place in men’s wheelchair competition.
Manuela Schär won the women’s wheelchair competition.
