REGION – Normally a Patriots’ Day tradition, the Boston Marathon ran late last year due to COVID-19, taking place in October.
Just over five months later, area residents are set to converge once again for the 2022 marathon, which is now back on its regular schedule.
More than 60 people from Marlborough, Hudson, Southborough, Westborough, Northborough, Shrewsbury and Grafton are registered to participate in the race, joining a field that has swelled in size following capacity limits in 2021.
Those individuals will head to Hopkinton on April 18 to then begin their long journey toward downtown Boston.
