MARLBOROUGH—BJs Wholesale Club headquarters, currently located in Westborough, is looking to move its 800-1,000 employees to Campus Drive in Marlborough.
The company has filed an application with the City of Marlborough for a tax-increment financing (TIF) agreement as it seeks to lease approximately 187,000 square feet in two buildings from Greatland Realty Partners. In addition, BJs is planning to build a parking garage on the property.
The TIF request is on the City Council’s agenda for its upcoming April 26 meeting.
BJs plans to spend approximately $36 million on interior building construction and a parking structure.
The company moved its headquarters from Natick to 25 Research Drive in Westborough in 2011.
The Marlborough Economic Development Commission oversees compliance of TIF agreements. The MEDC has confirmed to the Community Advocate that BJs approached the city about the move.
